Wonderful ‘Blog’, so well written. The younger brother, Jim is it seems to be a little bit of an “erse” (Irish Language section).
David:
If you get this, THE GAME IS UP!!!
CALL YOUR WIFE JEAN ASAP, AS SHE IS DESPERATELY WORRIED ABOUT YOU AND WHAT THIS “ADVENTURE” HAS DONE FOR YOUR HEALTH!!
By the way, Carolyn and Bob say very well done on “spirit” of the rally award- you really deserve it (more than can be said for your unworthy navigator, Jim. He TRULY sounds a bit of a plonker!!!).
Mamie Rae says watch out for the wet roads, dogs, babies and old people in Baltimore – what have they done to deserve a show off the calibre of David Gillanders?- you would have been EXCLUDED if it had been a proper RAC event!! Must have something to do with your special rally prepared TEAM NIBLOK Porsche 944 Lux JBSE (see note below)
When you see Jeanne, please give her one of the perfumes in the orange bag in your boot – she deserves so much more for her tolerance!!!!
If you are at all interested, I am in Kinsale now with David and Angela Bull, who are taking excellent care of me (Rolls Royce taxi!) – I will be in Dublin with my rugby pal, Colm Gormley, tonight – a man that knows what a drinker (sic.) I really am.
Hope you are feeling better today – you looked truly sh*t last night. Though it will already be too short, have a good life. Just remember, you may not be the first and others may have to cope before you do!
Have a good life – I intend to.
Well driven. many congrats on the “potty” (biggest in the shed).
May see you sometime. (but maybe NOT this month). I now understand how waiters and Walruses feel in Paris when you click your fingers (good idea not to use washers whilst your car is being loaded – it is very bad for the passenger door hinges and apparently results in teh buring of excess rubber and the blatant exceeding of Eire’s speed limits (keep your 20/20 eyes peeled for the Garda, now I’m not there to check your progress)
Oh brother!

Addendum:
Sarah was the resilient driver of the Citroen 2CV Special, Annabelle was the4 resourceful navigator and coffee pourer (‘Dolly’ was not a sheep, rather the name of a French devise for transporting potatoes cross-country)
Notes:
Due to your “outstanding” performance on this non-competitive “trash”, Ferdinand Porsche has personally authorised the introduction of the 944 Lux/DSR – JBSE*
* James Bond Special Equipment – guaranteed to eject any troublesome navigators or close relatives!
